How to Order from Us

We accept e-mail orders, phone orders and want lists through the U.S. mail. Select the comics you desire from our site and contact us. We will determine which comics are in stock and their final cost after any applicable discounts. Unless otherwise desired, we ship all orders via the U.S.Post Office, including foreign orders. Shipping for all orders will include a small handling charge. If you decide to mail us a want list, please include alternate comic wants. We accept cash, money orders, personal checks, Visa/Mastercard, American Express, Discover and PayPal. Our PayPal account is: socalcom@aol.com.

Foreign orders: Money Orders or PayPal (in some cases), only! Checks may be held in our bank for up to 10 days to clear before the order will be mailed. All our orders are shipped in sturdy boxes, packaged to minimize damage during shipping.

Please, minimum orders of $20.00! We make little profit on small sales if payment is made by credit card. Credit card processing fees limit our minimum to $20.00.

California residents include sales tax on all purchases.

Discounts

We are negotiable on many of our comics. There are some comics we will not discount and that matter is subject to our discretion. You have only to ask us about items you are interested in.

Installment Payments

We do put comics on layaway. We prefer the payments not stretch out beyond three months. The initial down payment is generally 1/3 of the retail cost of the book with the balance to be paid at the end of three months. Some exceptions can be made for time extensions. Payments made on a time basis are non-refundable after the first 30 days (unless the book is returned based upon buyer dissatisfaction).

The down payment is nonrefundable. So, be sure you are committed to the purchase!

Shipping/Mailing

Domestic: We use the least expensive form of US Post Office mail for comic purchases below $50.00. If you prefer to receive your purchase quickly, advise us and we will add the additional charge for Priority Mail. Insurance and/or Delivery Confirmation must also be requested.

International: We will ship to any international destination. The cost of shipping is up to the buyer, unless the shape or size of the purchase dictates a particular shipping cost. We are fully aware of the import costs and tariffs that most countries attach to imports at their Customs Departments. Please notify us how you would like the package to be listed on Customs Declaration forms.

Grading

All comic books are strictly graded and priced accordingly using the Overstreet Price Guide for reference.

Please: Be absolutely certain you understand the current grading system as recognized by professional dealers/collectors worldwide. We use the Overstreet Grading System and adhere to those standards. If you have questions about the grade of a book you desire or wish to have us send you a detailed description- we will do so upon request. Returns and refunds are a nuisance to both parties and we strive to minimize them.

Common grading terms are used throughout our website. These terms include all the abbreviations recognized in today's industry. One term that may not be obvious is: (R). This term represents a restored book. With restored books, buyers will want as much information about a comic book as we can furnish. Simply request more information on any of our books and we will be more than happy to provide it. We will e-mail scans to interested parties. Or, we will send scans via U.S.Mail.

Refunds

Full refund will be made if the buyer is unhappy with the quality of the comic books or if the content was incorrect. Refunds requested for reasons other than those will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We will buy the books back in some cases at a substantially reduced price. The refund must be requested via e-mail or phone within seven days after book(s) are received. CGC-graded comic books are non-refundable. All sales for CGC books are final.

Comic Book Appraisal

With increased activity on eBay we have encountered buyers that are frequently unhappy with the quality of their comic book purchases. Inconsistent or inaccurate grading plagues the values on many of these purchases frustrating the buyers. Often, the seller is contentious or resistant to refunds on misidentified sale items leaving the buyer challenged for compensation. We offer a solution.

EBay and PayPal will mediate and offer protection for buyers and sellers. Protection in the form of pressure on the parties to adhere to proper business rules. Protection in the form of limited compensation. To accomplish this eBay and PayPal require third-party services to establish parameters that can form the basis for mediation and compensation. We offer that third-party service. For a $25.00 fee we will create a written appraisal based upon facts presented. This is an opportunity for buyers to protect themselves against unethical sellers.
